Does the American Disability Act (ADA) prohibit the fitting of Sharpsmarts?
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the American Disability Act (ADA) prohibit the fitting of Sharpsmarts?
ADA requires wall protuberances to be less than 4” if the bottom leading edge of the item is greater than 27” off the floor in walks, halls, corridors, passageways, or aisles. Although Sharpsmart sharps disposal containers and most other sharps containers protrude more than 4” from the wall, they are not sited in walks, halls, corridors, passageways, or aisles. ADA has not received a complaint regarding Sharpsmarts.
