A 3 year study studying the impact of a hospital transitioning from a 64Gallon bin to the Daniels 17Gallon Medismart containment system, revealed that the Medismart system reduced medical waste mass and volume by 53.2% and 65.2% respectively, reduced medical waste disposal costs by 31% and labor costs by 69.2%

Sharpsmart reduced waste by 3.9 tons per annum per 100 hospital beds
A 5-year Study examined the impact of 103 hospitals converting from disposable sharps containers to Daniels reusable sharps containment system. Conversion to Sharpsmart resulted in a 28% waste reduction; a total of 3.9 tons of waste per 100 beds per annum (3.9 tons of plastic and 0.4 tons of cardboard), together with a 51% reduction in container exchange labor with the larger Sharpsmart containers.
