Medical & Biohazardous Waste Disposal in Columbia
Columbia is the capital city of South Carolina and has a misnomer of a nickname: “Cola City.” Was one of the oldest soft drinks in America invented here? Nope! When people typically abbreviate Columbia, they do it as “Cola.” The more you know!
Daniels Health is happy to serve local healthcare facilities in such a historic city that literally rose from the ashes. Almost 2/3 of Columbia was burned to the ground during William T. Sherman’s “March to the Sea” in 1865. However, the city rebuilt and continued to grow. Later in 1894 the first textile mill ran by electricity would open here – adding a boom in jobs and revenue for the community. The textile mill is currently the South Carolina State Museum, a favorite location of ours.
Modern life in Columbia is very centered around outdoor activities. Many, including our local team members, like to go to Congaree National Park and walk the trails. The park is on a floodplain so the greenery and animals are very unique to what you may imagine when you think of a traditional national park. Columbia also likes to brag that Hootie and the Blowfish got their start here. When our teams go out for karaoke, “Let Her Cry” is definitely a favored song choice. Do our teammates always sing it as well as Hootie? Not necessarily…
Aside from our love of Darius Rucker’s voice, we are passionate about healthcare, and this is where our story begins
Columbia Healthcare Waste Management with a difference.
As our environment continues to be put at risk from pollution, global warming, and other less than eco-friendly pursuits – we must put sustainability first wherever we can. Our CEO knew the importance of preserving our environment when he set out to design healthcare waste containers that were not only safe, but reusable. The Daniels premium biohazardous waste containers are made from impenetrable plastic that, after a robotic and scientifically-proven washing process, can be reused. Every day we are working to reduce the amount of single-use plastic that goes to landfill. The Daniels systems are also case-studied to be the safest containers on the market for clinicians. As a full healthcare waste management partner, our solutions can support your healthcare facility’s sustainability goals. Let’s help the planet together.
