ASK FOR A WASTE CONSULTATION

Texas, once the home of cowboys and ranches, has evolved into an eclectic mix of urban and rural culture and settings. The Lone Star State, as it is commonly called, is now the proud home of more than 28.3 million people, and only 4 million of these live in rural Texas.

Some people say that everything is bigger in Texas, and that’s definitely true for the size of the state itself. Texas is the second largest state in America, spanning over 261,767 square miles, and making it geographically almost the same size as Europe. Most of the state’s residents occupy the 5 most populated metropolitan cities: Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, Austin and Fort Worth.

However, their fascination and reputation for bigger doesn’t stop there. Texas has a culture of bigger and better that extends to its BBQs, steaks, ribs, fish, sporting fields and real estate. Texas is also a state with rich historical roots, home to of one of the most prolific historical sites in America, the Alamo. The Alamo served as a fort in the Texan War of Independence. Visitors and residents also like to investigate and explore space at the Space Center in Houston, reconnect with nature at the rugged Big Bend National Park or wine, dine and shop along the water at San Antonio's iconic River Walk. Texas is also home to the fastest-growing city in the United States, Austin, which has a reputation for being delighfully weird.

Everything is bigger... even healthcare!

The saying that everything is bigger in Texas is also true when it comes to their hospitals. Texas has 407 hospitals, the most out of any state in America. All of these hospitals generate medical and biohazard waste, requiring biohazard disposal in Texas, along with other facilities including aged care facilities, clinics, labs, pharmacies, dental surgeries and vets. Partnering with some of the leading hospitals in Texas, Daniels Health has been serving Texas Healthcare for more than 15 years and with our own transport, treatment, compliance and account management specialists, has developed an iron-clad reputation for medical waste service excellence across the state.

OUR WASTE SOLUTIONS

Texas Infectious Waste Guidelines

The disposal of medical and biohazard waste in Texas is managed by the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission, which has set out stringent and complex regulations for the generation and disposal of medical and biohazard waste. In addition to these regulations, Texas is one of the 26 American states that is covered entirely by the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and any generation or disposal of waste, must be handled with OSHA compliance in-mind. OSHA estimates that over 5 million healthcare workers handling medical materials including syringes, needles and surgical scalpels are at risk of exposure to blood borne pathogens through sharps-related injuries.

It is therefore essential for hospitals, surgical centers and other healthcare facilities that generate sharps, to dispose of their biozhard waste correctly. Daniels Health has led a global shift in reusable sharps containers that have proven to reduce needlestick injuries by up to 87%! Daniels' Sharpsmart containers are documented in countless medical journals for the risk they eliminate in sharps handling and sharps disposal through their inbuilt safety tray, overfill protection, secure anti-tampering locks, and no-hands-access design. Learn more here. We our proud to partner with Texas facilities to deliver innovation-led biohazard waste services from our local Houston plant. Major cities we service include Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio, Houston, Austin, El Paso, Corpus ChristiPlano, Arlington, Irving, GarlandLaredo and Lubbock
